1981 Miyata 1000

Purchased January 2004 from the originalowner, who bought it in 1981. Headin to ride it in the Cumbria, Yorkshire, and the Pennines in England in summer 2004. (ps Trip was fantastic ! Pics HERE)

2009 - I'm loving riding my larger Fuji Tourer IV ,and riding this bike less.

Here is a beautifully made top-of-the-line classic for your collection or for daily use. It is a pleasure to ride or to look at. Burgundy red, 23-inch frame, 27-inch wheels, 32 ½ inches from ground to top of the bar. There are a few scrapes and scratches in the factory paint job, minor in my opinion. No dents, no rust, never wrecked. It is original except for the seat, tires and rear derailleur. I have added front and rear Jim Blackburn touring racks and sponge handlebar grips. The bike weighs about 29 pounds. I bought it new in 1981. It has been mostly in storage, probably ridden 500 miles or so. The tires were new in 1996. Hardly ridden since then but age-cracked now.
